Our story

UnblockFunds was founded in Dublin in 2019 after our founders watched a portfolio of e-commerce clients lose six- and seven-figure balances to sudden processor freezes — with no clear path to recovery and no realistic chance of affording bespoke litigation. We built a productised recovery service that pairs senior dispute lawyers with a technology platform purpose-built for processor disputes, so businesses of any size can get serious legal weight behind their claim.

Today we operate from offices in Dublin, London and New York, with case managers covering EU, UK and US recovery proceedings, and a network of partner law firms in 17 additional jurisdictions.

What we do

  • Reserve releases — recovering rolling reserves held beyond contractual periods.
  • Account freezes — challenging Section 4 / risk-team holds and 180-day retention windows.
  • Account terminations — securing release of final settlement balances after MID closure.
  • Chargeback disputes — representing merchants where mass chargebacks have triggered holdings.
  • Regulatory escalations — filing complaints with the FCA, FINRA, CSSF, BaFin, AMF, Central Bank of Ireland and similar.

Our principles

Legal-grade work

Every case is reviewed by a qualified solicitor or attorney before action — no boilerplate, no robo-letters.

Aligned incentives

Standard engagements are no-win-no-fee. If we don't recover anything, you owe nothing.

Cross-border by design

Most processor disputes cross at least two jurisdictions. We staff cases accordingly.

One case manager

You speak to a named human, not a queue. They own your file from intake to wire.

Regulation, accreditation, insurance

UnblockFunds Ltd is registered in Ireland (company no. 738291) and operates under an Authorisation as a Designated Service Provider. Legal services are delivered through our network of partner law firms, each independently regulated in their home jurisdiction (SRA in England & Wales, Law Society of Ireland, NYSBA in New York, and equivalents in other markets). We carry €10M of professional indemnity insurance, are ISO 27001 certified for information security, and SOC 2 Type II audited annually.
